Access management

Deciding which logins your teammate gets and sharing them through a password manager instead of plain text.

Business process outsourcing

Handing a whole function to an outside company that runs it with its own team, often shortened to BPO.

Client success manager

The person at delegateit who helps you onboard your teammate and checks in on how things are going.

Dedicated assistant

One named person who works only on your business for an agreed number of hours.

Freelancer marketplace

A website where you post work and hire independent contractors yourself, such as Upwork or Fiverr.

Full time equivalent

A way to describe workload as a share of one full time person. Half of a full time week is 0.5.

Month to month

A plan you can stop with notice instead of a fixed long contract.

People who work for your business from another country, usually on your hours and through a provider that handles employment.

Onboarding

The first weeks when your teammate learns your tools and processes and starts taking work over.

Placement fee

A one time charge some agencies add when they place a worker. delegateit does not charge one.

A teammate with deeper skills in one area, such as bookkeeping or design, priced on our Specialist plan.

Standard operating procedure

A written set of steps for a recurring task, often shortened to SOP. It makes handoffs faster and keeps quality steady.

Time zone overlap

The hours when you and your teammate are both working. Most clients ask for full overlap with US business hours.

Virtual assistant

A remote helper who handles admin, customer or marketing work online. The term covers freelancers and dedicated staff alike.
